Eönwë

File:Tuuliky - Lord of the Eagles.jpg            My pseudonym is the Maia of the Ainur, Eönwë: the name is of Quenya form, but there is no Elvish etymology known to the loremasters; this suggesting it is of Valarin origin. Eönwë is the herald and banner-bearer of Manwë, King of the Valar. He is the most skillful weapons-bearer in all of Arda and chief of the Maiar along with Ilmarë, the handmaid of Varda. (In The Book of Lost Tales, he is referred to as Fiönwë, which suggests sonship according to the Quenya etymology; as an earlier work of Tolkien's, this could have been an early conception of Eönwë as Manwë's son).
Eönwë was the first to greet Eärendil on the shores of Valinor and brought him before the Valar to present his appeal. After Eärendil's request for the aid of the Valar in fighting against Morgoth was granted, Eönwë was sent to Middle-earth, as general of the Vanyar. Eönwë played a key role in the actions following the War of Wrath and the defeat of Morgoth: Eönwë took the remaining two Silmarils for safe keeping, but they were stolen by the remaining sons of Fëanor, and he did not permit them to be killed. In defeat, Sauron knelt to Eönwë and repented of his evil. But Eönwë had not the power to pardon Sauron's evil deeds and, therefore, commanded him to return to Aman to receive Manwë's judgment, but Sauron would not suffer such shame and punishment, so when Eönwë returned to Valinor, Sauron hid in Middle-earth festering in his evil.
When the Second Age began, Eönwë blessed the Houses of Edain with long life, wisdom, and power. The descendants of these houses became the High Men of Númenor.

Awesome job on explaining the history of your character. Very well done on describing him and who he was in the history of Middle-earth.
