Hobbit Society

This past Friday, I got the honor of listening to Eric Velhagen explain and answer questions about his fantasy artwork. We started off the evening by being frustrated with the pizza not being delivered on time, but once we started the actual meeting, we were enthralled by Eric's work and stories. Eric told us about how he was given about 6 months to paint for each month of The Game of Thrones calendar and how The Wizards of the Coast (the company that owns Magic the Gathering) contacted him with very specific requests for the cards they asked him to design. While Eric was introducing himself, he passed around prints of some of his work and told us about their names and interesting facts about each one. My favorite 2 were called Knight Lights and Felines! Eric also has specific Lord of the Rings artwork that was just amazing! I would highly suggest going on to his website (https://ericvelhagen.carbonmade.com/) and checking out the Glorfindel and the Balrog painting. It was amazing to meet him and hear how he turned his passion into a lifestyle!
