Mythopoeic Poems from class

This is the place to add the mythopoeic poems from class on Tuesday. As requested, I am not adding names to these, unless you emailed me that you wanted your name included. However, those who sent poems will all get blog credit. So, read on in the comments!

Grey, Darkness, Shadow, Fire
Two ancient creatures in the very roots of the misty mountains
For days they fought, one countering another
Staff was broken, stones were hewn
The battle raged on at the peaks of the mountains
The air was thin and Gandalf bled
And with Glamdring's beating blow, the Balrog fell dead.

The Ents March to War

The hobbits had come, awakened the ents
They caused a great stir, rustling their leaves
Treebeard called the rest, Ents from all around
To decide their fate, their last acts await
The hobbits had come, awakened the ents
The meeting took place, quickly for the ents
What was their duty, their place in this war
Sudden like thunder, the ents had chosen
They chose to march on, the march to Orthanc.

Merry and Pippin stumbling along;
they found the old tree.
He hummed them a song.
Treebeard, they called him.
He spoke of when Ents were free.
He bashed on Saruman,
how he makes them debris.
Maybe you could see him too,
if you journeyed through the weald,
But don't take an ax,
'cause the Ents could get riled.
